What is a Gloss Meter?

So if your not familiar with our coatings, we pride ourselves in making extremely shiny and or glossy surfaces. The active glass nano particles fill up the tiny pores of the surface very tightly and leave an extremely flat surface making it very sealed and very shiny.

Now its not just good enough to say “wow that vehicle is really glossy now”. We want to know how shiny it is and on what scale.

How we do that is using a tool called a “gloss meter” this tool actually sends a signal to the surface on an angle and reads how well the signal reflects back into the meter. The better the reflection the higher the gloss meter indication will read. The lower obviously the less glossy.

When you first buy one of these, you find yourself checking everything in sight. Wood, Steel, Glass...etc. We suggest you don’t get to carried away, your cat will not like to know that its fur is only a 4 on the gloss scale :).

Now this tool is great for 1, checking how glossy the surface was before applying the coating and after applying. It also works great when paint repairs are done, you can test how the new paint shines compared to the old paint and you have a number to match. You also can see if someone went with a cheaper product by how the gloss meter reads.
